Agency Member (includes TPAs and Brokers)
A PIMA Agency membership is available to any insurance agency, broker or Third Party Administrator which sells or administers voluntary purchase insurance programs for individuals or businesses. To be eligible for membership, an agency must have free choice of carrier. Each separate entity within a multiple agency organization having common ownership or management is eligible for membership. In the case of an agency, wholly or substantially owned directly by an insurance company, where such agency would qualify as an agency member, such agency may become an agency only if such company, if it qualifies, is a sustaining member.
Company Member
A sustaining membership is available to any licensed insurance company committed to the direct marketing of voluntary purchase insurance programs for individuals or businesses (including reinsurers). However, membership is not available to any insurance companies which have corporate policies against the payment of commissions or fees to third-party administrators. Each separate entity within a multiple organization having common ownership or management is eligible for membership.
Business Partner Member
Business Partner membership shall be available to any person, firm or corporation (that does not meet the above membership criteria) selling, or wishing to sell, products or services to members of PIMA. Business Partner members include marketing firms, advertising and/or PR agencies, technology companies, printers, mail houses, compliance organizations, law firms, consultants.
