Agencies

A PIMA Agency membership is available to any Agency committed to direct marketing which sells or administers voluntary purchase insurance programs for individuals or businesses.

To be eligible for membership, an agency must have free choice of carrier. Each separate entity within a multiple agency organization having common ownership or management is eligible for membership.

In the case of an agency, wholly or substantially owned directly by an insurance company, where such agency would qualify an agency member, such agency may become an agency only if such company, if it qualifies, is a sustaining member.

Business Partners

Business Partner membership shall be available to any firm or corporation engaged in or wishing to engage in selling products or services to members of PIMA and who does not bear risk.

Companies

A sustaining membership is available to any licensed insurance company committed to the direct marketing of voluntary purchase insurance programs for individuals or businesses, which make reinsurance available to insurance companies eligible for sustaining membership with respect to such companies' direct marketing programs. However, sustaining membership is not available to any insurance companies which have corporate policies against the payment of commissions or fees to third-party administrators.

Each separate entity within a multiple organization having common ownership or management is eligible for membership.
